Toilètte’s bamboo is sourced from the Sichuan region of China, where it grows abundantly—without chemicals—on small-scale, rural farms. Our partnerships support local cooperatives, and all bamboo is FSC-certified to ensure responsible, sustainable harvesting.

Toilètte is delivered to the U.S. via ocean freight—one of the most carbon-efficient modes of transport available, up to ten times more efficient than road. Our rolls are thoughtfully engineered: extra-long (370 sheets) with a narrow core to reduce volume, and shipping emissions.

Even accounting for overseas transport, Toilètte remains carbon negative—offsetting three times the emissions of traditional toilet paper.

Conventional toilet paper relies heavily on the Boreal Forest—a critical carbon sink that stores vast amounts of atmospheric CO₂. Each tree lost in the name of traditional 'TP' accelerates climate collapse. Bamboo, by contrast, is a regenerative resource, growing up to 3 feet per day and absorbing carbon at a significantly faster rate than trees. It regenerates without replanting and requires no pesticides.

Our paper wraps are made from FSC-certified paper and printed with soy-based inks. Cartons are crafted from recycled paper and printed the same way. All packaging is fully recyclable and compostable — though we always encourage reuse first.

Yes — Toilètte is lab-tested and 100% free of formaldehyde, fragrances, and PFAS. No harmful chemicals here.

Our white paper is bleached using a elemental chlorine-free process (ECF), and is generally considered one of the most environmentally safe ways to bleach paper. Modern ECF bleaching provides pulp with similar or even lower environmental impacts than TCF (Totally Chlorine Free) processes, according to the Alliance for Environmental Technology. The remaining chlorine-containing organic substances resulting from ECF bleaching are similar to substances found in nature, degrade naturally and do not persist in the environment.

Yes! Our toilet paper has been tested for disintegration and is well suited to both septic and sewer systems.
